Roger Bone acquired his truck as a derelict chassis in 2002. Its original body style and use was not known so Roger has recreated an accurate copy from original drawings of an army truck that was fitted to this chassis. The radiator is completely new and this involved having patterns made and getting the aluminium top tank cast. The chassis colour matches remains of the original paint.

In the absence of the correct gearbox, Roger originally fitted a car 3 speed unit but this proved inadequate. In late 2004 he managed to acquire the remains of a Crossley Kegresse from France where the original Kegresse axle unit had been used to restore a Citroen. This came with the correct 4 speed right hand change unit which is now fitted.

One mystery is that this chassis is quoted in the records as being of 10 ft 6 inch wheelbase but this one is only 9 feet 6 inches and has not been shortened.

Chassis number is 60605 and engine number 29793.
