This SD42/7, first registered in March 1949, has a Plaxton MB1 half cab body.

It was bought new by Albert Davies and is still owned by them. They used it for local coach services and tours until June 1965 when the company ceased its coach operations. The exterior was re-painted in their own workshops in 1994. All the aluminium panels, glass and timber are original except for some repairs to the door bottoms. The interior has been restored but all seats, luggage racks and panelling are the originals. No major mechanical work has ever been carried out except for the front springs and steering arms which were replaced by the factory with modified versions. After standing for 30 years the only work necessary to pass the MoT test was a re-line of the front brakes and a clean of the rears. Thanks to the owners for the notes.

The chassis number is 97797.  The SD42/7 had the 7ft 6in wide chassis and the HOE7/4 8.6 litre diesel engine.
