This 1932 Golden saloon belongs to Martin Jacobs. The Golden was the successor to the 20.9 and the earlier smaller engined 18/50 first introduced in 1925. The Golden was available until the mid 1930s. Four are known to survive with the youngest known to the Crossley Register being a 1934 example exported to Australia.

Martin bought the car in largely restored condition externally and since has been working on the interior where sections of the leather work needed restoration, repair or replacement. Some of the instruments were also missing and sections of the woodwork needed attention. The car is in regular use and, Martin reports, is good enough to be daily transport!

A great deal of the earlier restoration work was done over many years by Christopher Barker, of Winchester and, after the car was auctioned by Brooks in an incomplete condition, it was bought by David Izzard, from Bristol, who completed the work and got it on the road.

The car has Crossley bodywork and is remarkably original even down to the original luggage trunk.

Chassis number is 42174 and engine number 42165.
