For 2014 the Crossley Register UK national made a return visit to North Norfolk.  Our base was the Dales Country House Hotel at Upper Sherringham where we were allocated a parking place on the lawn. Alas, for the first time for many years, the weather gods did not smile on us. Friday, when most of us were travelling was a wonderfully sunny day but both Saturday and Sunday saw quite a lot of rain so for the open car occupants it was a case of hood up for the weekend. Monday of course saw a return to sunshine.

The Saturday navigation challenge had a note pleading with us to leave promptly at 09.30 and most people had left by 10.00am for a run along the coast to a coffee stop at Wiveton Hall. From there it was a further 10 miles to Holkham Hall where we lined up outside the house and visited the Bygones museum which had a selection of cars (no Crossleys) for us to admire. It was then off through some very narrow Norfolk lanes to the Hunny Bell at Hunsworth for lunch. After refreshments the majority continued to Felbrigg Hall and gardens. I missed this as I decided to get a puncture seen to and diverted to Holt - I have made a resolution to get a decent spare tyre before next year.

The annual dinner and prize giving took place as usual on Saturday evening with a briefer than usual Register AGM.

Sunday was given over to a Treasure Hunt organised by the Newton family. Clues had to be solved at Wiveton Downs nature reserve and the villages of Brinton and Hindolveston. Marking took place during lunch at Sculthorpe Mill and first prize was awarded to John and Jenny Beasley.

After lunch, for those not heading off, there was an excursion to Houghton Hall.
