The RAF used the
Crossley FWD four wheel drive truck chassis as airfield fire tenders
and this example is preserved at the RAF Museum at Cosford,
Staffordshire. Around 750 were made and this is thought to be
the sole survivor. The foam fire fighting equipment is by Pyrene. A
canvas roof over the cab was usually fitted.
