Crossley DD42 double decker bus

This bus is a 1949 Manchester Corporation DD42/8 chassis number 94784 with Crossley body from the collection of the Greater Manchester Transport Museum. This type was built between 1949 and 1950 and had an 8 ft 0 inch wide body.

(It is my understanding that the roof on Manchester buses in the early post war years was painted grey on the 7 ft 6 inch bodies and red on the 8 ft 0 inch bodies. Can anyone tell me if this bus get the wrong colour treatment on restoration or were exceptions made?)
