1923 Crossley 14hp
Tourer
The 1923 Crossley 14 hp painted in blue with black
wings. Although repainted the colours are original.
Hood down and sunshine.
The car with the hood up but without the side screens
in place.
The electrical system on this car is by Rotax. Others
used CAV. The speedometer is on the left, in front of the passenger.
The throttle pedal is in the centre with the brake pedal on the
right, clutch on the left.
The engine compartment showing the Solex carburettor.
To the right of this is the oil filler. On later engines this moved
to the top front of the engine. Petrol feed is by gravity from the
scuttle tank through the filter

This example of the 14hp was exported to Sweden in 1923. In
1960 the Brisshäll family bought it in well used condition from
the widow of the chaufeur of the previous (possibly original)
owner.
For the next 30 years the car was used for weddings, student
parties, and ceremonial and summer driving, within the family.
In 1993, following some minor problems, they decided to restore
the car to exhibition condition including returning it to its
original colour by matching that found underneath one of the engraved
plates under the passenger door.
